1. What is the ratings system? The ratings system is a computer generated ratings program that takes into account a number of factors to determine which black belt competitors should receive the highest point levels in 35 different competition categories.

2. What factors are used to determine ratings? The black belt results from SportMartialArts.com Full Coverage events (Premiere Events) are entered into our database. The computer then generates points for each athlete based upon (a) the type of event (i.e. National, Regional or Local); (b) the place taken in the division, (c) the number of competitors in the division, and (d) whether the athlete placed higher than other highly rated competitors.

3. What divisions count towards rating points? All regular point sparring, 3-man men's team sparring, forms and weapons divisions are included as well as regular circuit-recognized grand championships. Special sparring divisions like continuous, team forms, breaking, self-defense, etc. are not included at this time. We hope to add some of these divisions over time.

4. Are black belt divisions the only ones included? Yes, at this point only black belts are included.
